Florida Law Makers Considering Eliminating Sales Taxes on Tampons for all Women.
Tallahassee law makers are contemplating on whether an ordinance to eliminate sales taxes on products women use while menstruating shall in fact be passed within the Florida legislature. According to WPLG Local 10 News, two proposals considering tax exemptions for feminine hygiene products such as tampons and menstrual pads moved ahead in the Florida Legislature on Tuesday. Also, advocates for the change say these items are a necessity for women and should be considered a "common household remedy" under state law. Many other states within the U.S. currently do not impose any sales taxes on these products women consider a vital necessity.
