Miami Residents Spread Rumors About Possible Deportation Check Points in the City of Miami Beach.
Miami Beach Police officials had to clear up a contentious rumor which went viral, by publicly announcing that there is no current immigration operations underway within Miami Dade County. According to WSVN Miami, social media rumors quickly escalated yesterday, warning South Florida residents of immigration officials rounding up immigrants at several areas throughout Miami. South Florida being one of the nations most popular cities for expatriates, demanded answers promptly as the tentative rumor had many in South Florida feeling in despair. According to the Migration Policy Institute, at least 632,000 undocumented immigrants currently reside within the sunshine state, in which 41 percent live right here in South Florida. Also a study conducted by the Sun Sentinel Florida, confirmed that Nicaraguans make up the largest number of undocumented immigrants in Miami Dade and Monroe County. Many Miami employers for years now have hired large quantities of undocumented workers, to pay them far less than they would have to pay a native born college graduate from a four year institution.
