Trump's New Sanctuary City Executive Order Affects the City of Miami.
For decades the city of Miami has served as a safe haven for a substantial portion of the nation's largest undocumented population. This week Donald J. Trump signed into effect a new executive order, targeted at cutting federal aid into cities that the federal government classifies as sanctuary. According to the Department of Justice, Miami is classified as a sanctuary city for the reason that undocumented immigrants can find shelter and be shielded from facing deportation from local authorities. NBC 6 Miami declared Trump's orders to crack down on sanctuary cities such as Miami, could eventually cost individual jurisdictions millions of dollars on an annual level. Donald J. Trump firmly believes that his new executive orders will save lives within this country and will eventually take back control of U.S.'s borders.
