Obama Administration Ends Wet Foot, Dry Foot Act for all Cubans.


The Obama Administration will be eliminating the Wet Foot-Dry Foot policy which was enacted in the 1995 revision of the Cuban Adjustment Act, granting Cubans who entered the U.S eligibility for permanent residency after just one year of living in the United States. According to USA Today, the decision was confirmed by a congressional staffer briefed by the administration and In exchange Cuba has agreed to start accepting Cubans who have been issued a deportation order within U.S grounds. Cubans who arrive to the United States by sea or by any illegitimate manner, will no longer receive governmental assistance or benefits issued by the United States government.
