Poverty Rate for Women in Miami Amongst Highest in the Nation.
A new study conducted by the Institute for Women's Policy Research, found that more than twenty five percent of women in Miami Dade County are currently living in flat out poverty. According to wmfe.org, current data portrayed that black women, Native American women, and latina women were ranked amongst the poorest ethnicity groups throughout the whole state of Florida. South Florida being one of the states worst employers and having inequitable gender pay gaps, fell into this unsought category as Miami Dade Counties minimum wage still stands at $8.15 and $4.08 for tipped workers. Miami Dade County continues to be a great city to live in but a troubled city when trying to find a decent paying job within the South Florida sector.
