Florida Raises Minimum Wage for Workers by Only Five Cents.
The strenuous journey to raise Florida's minimum wage to at least $15 an hour has been temporarily abrogated, as Tallahassee law makers raise the wage by only five cents in Florida. According to CBS Miami, this wage increase is the fifth smallest hourly increase since Florida established a State minimum wage back in 2005. South Florida wage payed workers have been getting by with only $8.05 and will now make a total of $8.10 starting on January 1st, 2017. With a typical one bedroom apartment in South Florida going for at least $1,200 a month, workers who earn Florida's irrational under compensated minimum wage will struggle as cost of living in Miami goes up.
